After undergoing a multimillion-dollar redesign, Del Mar’s only hotel on the beach is now open. Del Mar Beach Hotel is a modern California coastal boutique hotel boasting 46 elegantly appointed guest rooms, suites, and two residences, exuding authentic California style, spectacular views, and an unbeatable location.
Reverently preserved and reimagined for today’s discerning tastes, the hotel sparkles anew with coastal-chic design, elevated comforts, and thoughtful amenities just steps from all that Del Mar is famous for.
Combining modern Mediterranean and California coastal influences, Del Mar Beach Hotel embraces the warm comforts of home, invoking a timeless design. The rooms feature the hues of warm beiges and sand with blue accent colors, seamlessly blending with the sky and nearby water. Furniture is a palette of warm wood tones complemented by plank wood floors, all accented by custom art and light fixtures, with a modern flair. The hotel’s art is curated by national artists, paying homage to Del Mar’s storied history and community, as well as the beachfront environment. The focal area of each room is the headboard mural, depicting a coastal scene. All luxury guest room linens and bathrobes are by Frette.
Del Mar Beach Hotel’s two residences named The Beach House and The Bungalow, provide guests with all of the comforts of home. The beautifully remodeled 1,600 sq ft three-bedroom Beach House can comfortably accommodate up to eight people.
The home features a large living room, separate dining area, and a well-appointed kitchen with awning windows that open to the rear patio and bar which boasts a covered outdoor kitchen, BBQ, separate dining area, fire pit, and seating area. The master bedroom features a king-size bed with two closets, an en-suite bath with double vanity, an oversized shower, and a vaulted ceiling with natural light spilling in through a skylight. The second bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and features two queen size beds and a private bath. The third bedroom boasts two twin beds plus a small loft area perfect for kids to play in.
The one-bedroom Bungalow can accommodate up to six people and features a professional kitchen with a Viking range, SubZero refrigerator; a 40-bottle wine fridge; espresso machine; coffeemaker; microwave; and dishwasher. The Bungalow boasts a private Jacuzzi hot tub; an outdoor shower; a Tesla charging station; smart televisions; a washer and dryer; a massive double shower and dual vanity in the master bath; and an en-suite bath with shower. All luxury linens are by Frette.
Del Mar Beach Hotel provides access to the longtime favorite beachfront locale, Poseidon restaurant, which is located mere steps from the hotel. Owned by the same family that has owned the hotel since 1968, Poseidon serves lunch and dinner seven days a week.
Guests will be welcomed with a glass of fine wine at check-in from the Cruvinet Wine Dispenser in the lobby, with a rotating selection of curated varietals by the glass. A La Cimbali Cafe Motto partnership welcomes guests with the freshest lattes and americanos each morning as they head out for a day on the sand, surf in the swells, or cozy up by the fire pit to perfect their s’more technique. Guests can also delight in scoops of an exclusive gelato flavor created especially for the hotel by the nationally acclaimed creators of An’s Hatmakers at Del Mar Plaza.
Or take a bike ride into town on beach cruisers, connect with locals at happy hour on the deck or join a sunset yoga flow in the sand. Del Mar Beach Hotel will also launch an annual flip flop program, where each year they will feature a custom flip flop design, the perfect commemoration of magical days spent cruising the sand and Del Mar's quaint streets.
A short drive from Torrey Pines, Balboa Park, and Little Italy, the hotel is perfectly situated for a San Diego getaway. Since the legendary days of Hollywood’s golden years, Del Mar has been the destination of choice for many elites as well as those with a taste for fast horses at the legendary Del Mar Racetrack, beautiful beaches, and award-winning cuisine.
